Peter Stainfath defeats big brother Casper to win the Longboarderly 2010

What an amzaing day on the beach by the local NASA surfclub!
the longboarderly 2010 took place on the 21st of august in Klitmoller and the left hander reef break offer some small but very long consistent waves that suits the longboarding style.
As the judges were talking from the CULT Energy Drink Car, the music was runnig, and the people on the beach had a lot of fun under the sunny skies, the local grommets made few massive upsets to rule the event all the way to the final.
loclal grommet, Peter Stainfath, 14, won all his heats and finish strong on the final with smooth nose rides and classic style to keep his older brother Casper in 2nd place.

”it was going to come sooner or later” said Casper after beeing defeated by his younger brother. ”this reef break is the playground of my brother and he know the place like his own pocket”.

super stoked Peter S was almost speechless. ”i want to say thanks to the orgenaizers for making this great event and of course huge thanks for my coach Joachim”.

in the 3rd place we had Victor Rosario that just arrive to Denmark and will charge here the next few month. the 4th place went to Jespar ”the guru” Fejerskov after a long day in the water.
jespar had a long way and made it to the final thru the loosers round but manage to get back on his feets and also participate in the SUP expression session.

In the girls category we had 6 girls doing battle for the title. as the sport keep growing and the girls keep on coming surfing we were very happy to see that the numbers of girls competing is reaching new levels.
Vahine Itchner opened strong with a good frontside floater and backed it with another nice long ride to win the final. Annete gave a good run for the title with few long waves and finish 2nd. the 3rd place reached local surfer, Tina with nice waves on the inside of the reef.

On the SUP expression session we had 11 competitors and they all ripped the waves and showed some good skills but it was local Casper Stainfath who used his experience from the international field to secure the win with some deep carves on his frontside.
During the expression session we also had Alexander Wolthers riding his longboard and inspiring the crowd on the beach as he made his trade mark move called ”the crazy frog”.

after the prize ceremony we held a nice dinner and had a lot of fun, we finish it strong with a pingpong competition and Jespar Fejerskov defend his title from the Hurley Open 2009.
”maybe in few years you guys could beat me, keep on training” said Jespar with the winner belt in his hand and a big smile on his face.

once again thanks for everyone who joined us on a beautiful day and we hope to see you again on next year.

Simpson Prepares to Defend Title at ASP PRIME US Open of Surfing

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California/USA (Monday, July 26, 2010) – The 2010 U.S. Open of Surfing presented by Hurley, Nike 6.0 and Converse has upgraded to an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) PRIME status for 2010, drawing 33 of the top 45 ASP Dream Tour surfers to South Huntington Beach Pier’s amphitheatre to assure that the highest level of competition will unfold from July 31 through August 8 while local favorite and defending event champion Brett Simpson (Huntington Beach, CA), 25, prepares to defend his title.

The U.S. Open of Surfing’s PRIME status has not only attracted several ASP Dream Tour surfers, but also the globe’s finest surfing talent looking to earn a spot atop the ASP World Ranking in an attempt to qualify for the coveted ASP Dream Tour.

Simpson solidified his spot amongst this year’s ASP Dream Tour with last year’s critical US Open of Surfing victory and now the Huntington Beach native is back to defend his hometown crown amongst this year’s elite.

“The main reason I’m competing this year is to surf a major event at home and defend the US Open title,” Simpson said. “I really enjoy competing at home in front of all my family and friends! I feel it gets me up and going more than anywhere else in the world to go out and give it my all.”

The stylish regular-footer’s definitive win last year saw Simpson top several ASP World Title event competitors including two-time ASP World Champion Mick Fanning (AUS), 28, and the ASP Dream Tour rookie knows that being able to prove yourself amongst a stacked field of names is a must for a successful career.

“Most of the pressure is what you put on yourself, all the rest of the pressure is people just wanting you to do well and win,” Simpson said. “You’ve got to beat the best to be the best. That was all I thought and was taught growing up, so surfing at my home break, I know I have a great advantage and I’ve got to go out there and capitalize on that as best as I can! It’s exciting to have the best surfers in the world in town. I think it’s really great for surf city.”

Evan Geiselman (New Smyrna Beach, FL), 16, who is currently leading the ASP North America Pro Junior Series, is a Round of 96 wildcard in the ASP PRIME event and is scouting out his chance to capitalize on the valuable points on offer towards his ASP World Ranking while competing against the globe’s top talent.

“Getting a wildcard into the main event is an excellent opportunity for me,” Geiselman said. “I’ll get to surf against the best surfers in the world. Hopefully I can make a few heats.”

In addition to competing in the main event, Geiselman is hungry to solidify the ASP North America Pro Junior Series Title with another impressive result at the ASP Grade-2 US Open Junior Pro, which runs in conjunction with the main event, to guarantee his spot on this year’s ASP World Junior Tour.

“I’m confident in my position on the ASP Pro Junior rating to qualify for this year’s World Junior Tour, but I still want to do my best in this event,” Geiselman said. “I’d love to make another Final and win this year’s North American Pro Junior Title.”

Running alongside the men’s ASP PRIME event is the women’s ASP 6-Star event, the only women’s ASP Star event in mainland America for 2010, as well as the ASP Grade-2 US Open Junior Pro, which holds both men’s and women’s divisions.

The U.S. Open of Surfing presented by Hurley, Nike 6.0 and Converse boasts a waiting period from July 31 through August 8, 2010 and will be web LIVE via www.usopenofsurfing.com
